If you have known me or followed me for any length of time, you know I am always trying to seek out quality non-toxic and safer products. When Beessential reached out to me to sample and review some of their products, I was thrilled! They make all-natural skin and body care products that are non-toxic and made with gentle, mild cleansers and essential oils. They are paraben and SLS-free and they use natural moisturizers like honey, hemp and aloe, beeswax, propolis, coconut and olive oils.

Now, for some fun! Let’s talk about Beessential’s products.

The lotion and lip balm are my absolute favorite! A little goes a long way, making the value even more inviting. I also love that they are made in the USA!

The Original Honey Hand and Body Cream has a heavenly scent.

I just loved it. The lavender is very calming and it truly is just a hint of bergomot, but lends a nice interest to the scent. It worked really well on my dry hands. The Colorado climate is extremely dry, especially in the winter which adds an extra hurdle. The lotion worked well every time. I kept it in my desk and would apply to my hands or any dry spots daily. LOVE!

The lip balm, oh the lip balm! I am sort of a lip balm snob.

Yep, I am. That darn Colorado dry climate again makes my lips dry quickly. After years living here, I always have lip balm at the ready. I have used others and have been a Burt’s Bees gal for a long time. Let me tell you, though, they got nothing on Beessential’s Lemon & Lavendar Lip Balm. You guys!!! Try it. I promise you will love it and be hooked. The prices are super reasonable, too. Check it out here and here.

My husband used the bar soaps and I did a little. He liked them and thought they were great on his dry skin. I also kept one in our guest bathroom, and our guests enjoyed it.

The body wash was another fave, again with that heavenly scent of Lavendar and Bergamot. I can’t wait to try the Grapefruit & Lemon Grass Body Wash next. Our entire family used it, and I felt good doing so, knowing the ingredients are clean. How do I know that???

Thanks to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), they have the Skin Deep site here.

“It’s (their) mission at Environmental Working Group to use the power of information to protect human health and the environment. EWG’s Skin Deep database gives you practical solutions to protect yourself and your family from everyday exposures to chemicals. We launched Skin Deep in 2004 to create online profiles for cosmetics and personal care products and their potential hazards and health concerns. Our aim is to fill in where industry and government leave off. Companies are allowed to use almost any ingredient they wish.”

Did you know…

“The U.S. government doesn’t review the safety of products before they’re sold. EWG’s staff scientists compare the ingredients on personal care product labels and websites to information in nearly 60 toxicity and regulatory databases.”

They have more than 62,000 products in their database that they test and rate there. If your product is not listed, you can search by ingredient to see its rating.

Check it out! They also have a free app, called the Healthy Living app. You can read more about that here.

I highly recommend starting to take a look at your beauty care and home care items. There are hardly any regulations on these things in the U.S. so you are your own advocate.

I will be writing much more about this and many of the products I trust and use, ones I make and ones I am trying out for upcoming reviews. Stay tuned.
