Breathing break! Time to pause & press reset. Fall is a time for letting go of the old, to create space for new & even better things. What will you let fall away? Use this image or one of your favorites to slow down and breathe. Deep breath in 1 – 2 – 3 – 4. And release for 1 – 2 – 3 – 4. Let it go. Try to be still and breathe for 5 minutes and… Read more »

Did you say a canning class taught by MM Local hosted by Door to Door Organics Colorado? Will I attend? Absolutely! I was beyond thrilled to be included in this fun, educational event. And to top it off, the day could not have been more perfect. The scene was set at the beautiful Lyons Farmette, and the weather was well played by Colorado. It was one of those gorgeous Colorado Fall days. Here are a few images from around the farmette as I strolled… Read more »

Hello mommas! Here is the recipe I referenced last week for an Easy Rotisserie Chicken in a Crock Pot that can later be used to make Homemade Chicken Broth, all in one pot! I found this recipe by Lisa Leake from 100 Days of Real Food on Pinterest about a year ago and have been making a modified version of it almost every week since. Let me say this, the recipe does not need to be modified. I simply… Read more »

I have a love-hate relationship with Halloween. Click To Tweet   My heart sank when I saw this. The funny thing is, I feel like I was the outcast and the only one who noticed the absurdity of the crates of candy almost reaching the ceiling. All I could think was, all of this candy will be bought and consumed. All of it. And this is only one of the many warehouse stores in America. This stuff is lined up… Read more »

Every Tuesday I have been posting on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter a photo and a prompt – asking you to give yourself permission to take a breathing break. I am going to start sharing some of them here, so if you need to you can come to my page and find one that resonates and breathe. I encourage you all to take these breathing breaks periodically throughout the day and not just on Tuesdays. I started with Tuesdays because Mondays… Read more »

Are you noticing a ‘baby bump’ even months after having your baby or babies? What our bodies go through to create these little miracles is truly remarkable. I am trying to embrace all that my body did to create our healthy little boys. I know for me, after my second child, it has seemed even more challenging to lose the baby weight. I gained the same both pregnancies, but this time has just been different. I am older and feel more… Read more »

These little ‘peanut butter’ banana oatmeal bars are ‘clean’, meaning no refined sugars or flours and only high quality ingredients. They are great for a quick morning breakfast or a snack at school or work. Using Sunflower seed butter keeps these nut free, which makes them allergen safe for many schools and gatherings. If you can tolerate tree nuts, these are quite good with almond butter and unsweetened almond milk. I found this recipe on Pinterest and the original came from Cooking… Read more »

There are days being a mom can be tough. It can feel as if the demands will never stop. On those days, when complete overwhelm sets in, it is harder to create space for me. Space to slow down, to breathe, to take time for myself, to move my body, to attend to my needs, because there is so much to get done, race around and complete. On those days – I can get irritable, resentful and easily frustrated. This past week… Read more »

It’s that time of year when the apples are abundant and my recipes start calling. Apple crisp? Grain free?  Uh, yes please! So we have this apple tree… Okay, truth? It is really my neighbor’s. BUT a good 1/4 of it hangs over our fence and shares loads of apples with us (and sadly our compost bin) every year. This year, my oldest son and I knew we needed to make an apple crisp. It couldn’t be any crisp – it… Read more »

Are you in the throes of back-to-school madness? I know I am! Back-to-school can be a busy time. We are all getting back in the swing of a routine, adjusting to an increase in organized activities, homework, school drop off/pick up, and oh, yeah – finding the time to feed our families a healthy meal they will actually eat. That last one can be tough, and as busy parents, it can be easy to give in to the drive thru on… Read more »
